This animal is a survivor from the Jurassic period and that’s why the Indonesian government established a preservation park. This Park has been listed among the UNESCO World Heritage sites in 1991. Nevertheless, other species present in this area are extremely rare and vital to preserve, this includes marine species as well as other terrestrial species.

    Activities in Komodo National Park

    After having met the mythic Komodo Dragons, you will have many more amazing activities to experience. We absolutely recommend you to soft hike or walk to the top of the hill in Padar Island as it offers the best panorama you could imagine. This picture makes the first page of many magazines every year and you must have already seen it: a view on the particular shape of the island, its hills between green and savannah, surrounded by clear blue ocean… This is Padar. We also recommend you to go for some paddling and/or kayaking in different bays of the park as you will cruise above the wonderful coral, visible with the pristine water. Also, you have to see the famous Pink Beach, which is covered by tiny little red or pink pigments coming from the Foraminifera living on the coral reefs in the beach proximity. Don’t forget a sunset cruise to the waters of Kalong Island where a magical show awaits you with thousands of Flying Foxes or giants’ bats take off every day when the sun goes down.

    The park’s spectacular underwater biodiversity, has long been considered as one of the best places for diving and snorkeling within the Coral Triangle. There are more than 50 world-class dive sites. No wonder why Komodo National Park is a marine lover’s paradise. It has a healthy and colorful coral gardens, surrounding the islands. With a marine area that constitutes 67% of the Park’s area, Komodo National Park waters provide a safe environment for 260 species of reef building coral and 70 varieties of sponges.  It is home to marine mammals: there are 6 types of wales and 10 types of dolphins. There are various types of sharks including hammerhead sharks and grey reef sharks. You can also find large pelagic creatures such as manta rays and eagle rays. There are more than 1,000 species of tropical fish along with mollusks, crustaceans, and invertebrates round out the amazing underwater bio-diversity in the park.

    Snorkeling is the best activity to experience in Komodo are so many awesome dive sites are easy to access and full of crazy diversity. You can count on us to make you discover the nectar among all of them. On the top ranking, you will find :
    Manta Point, one of the Mantas’ cleaning station but this one is especially renowned because you can see up to 40 oceanic Manta rays at once! The Manta rays are coming to the surface to feed with the planktons and get cleaned up by small fishes, it is an amazing show and with light current, you can easily follow the move and stay within the group, just amazing!
    Tatawa Besar is one of the best snorkeling sites if you are looking for some reefs’ snorkeling dive. The reef is so close from the surface, untouched and abundant in marine life, a must see!
    Go for a snorkeling dive in Batu Bolong, one of the most famous sites in Komodo. You will discover a massive colony of orange anthias living in this reef as well as larger species such as schools of tuna, trevallies and dolphins might also come by.
    What to say about Turtle City Snorkeling site? The name says it all, it is a home to an important community of turtle. It is amazing to swim next to them in their habitat, they are curious and easy to approach.
    Taka Makassar on its white sand bottom is covered of hard and soft coral, a pearl among the other reefs of Komodo.
    Go Snorkeling at Pink Beach too, you will be able to see one of the most colorful reefs in the world!

    Not at all, beginners can do discover scuba diving during the cruise (let us know to arrange it)


    Open water certified divers or equivalent will have access to most of the dive sites, but to make the best of the cruise Advanced level and experience in drift dive is recommended. You can spend a few days with us in Bali before starting your cruise, by joining our Safari tour or to get your Advanced certification in one of our four dive centers, it will allow you to dive up to 30m depth, to join night dives and be more confident and comfortable while drift diving.

    For an even better training we recommend you to join the drift specialty in Nusa Lembongan.

    Indonesia spread over its more than 5000 km along the Equator which offers a tropical climate with only two season, dry & wet.

    Dry season is mainly from May to October Wet season from November to April.
    Keep in mind that Indonesia is the world’s largest archipelago, so you can visit year-round as wet season won’t start in the same time in different places.

    Landscapes are also pretty different due to Tropical rainforest climate and Tropical savannah climate.

    We do recommend you to bring your own gears if you already own it. If not it’s not a big deal, you can rent the full set onboard, some of our partners provide rental equipment for free, maximum you can expect another 60$ per day.
    As a reminder, every scuba diver should be equipped with: Wetsuite/BCD/Regulator set/Fins/Weight system/Dive computer/SMB/Torchlight/Compass.


    Nitrox tanks are available on most of the boats, please refer to the boat description.

    Tipping from 5 to 10% of the cruise amount are expected, it express your satisfaction level. Tips are also an important income part for crew members.
