• A few things to know before planning your trip to Komodo.

    When planning a Dive Liveaboard in Komodo, you first have to consider your trip duration.

    If you only have a few days (
    3 days) Central Komodo will be your only option 
    (Rinca Island, Gili Lawa Darat, Sebayur islands), it could seems short but if it's your first time joining a Komodo Diving Liveaboard, you will have a good idea about what makes Komodo a dream destination.

    If you have between 4 to 8 days allocated to your Dive cruise in Komodo you have two options depending the season:

    From January to March
    you can join a Central & South Komodo cruise (Sebayur islands, Komodo Strait, Makassar Reef, Padar Island, South Rinca, Gili Lawa Darat, North Rinca) most of the Best dive sites in Komodo are located in the southern area of the Komodo National Park.

    From April to December
    you can join a Central & North Komodo Dive cruise, the Northern part of Komodo National Park offers some great dive sites as well, such as Batu Bolong, Makassar Reef or Castle Rock, you will sail toward Sebayur islands, Gili Lawa Darat, Padar Island, Rinca Island, so be ready to be blown away by landscapes and Seascapes.

    If you are planning a longer trip, you can combine two of the most famous destination for Divers in South-East Asia:

    Komodo National Park and Komodo Dragons

    Komodo National Park is home of the remarkable Komodo Dragon, the world’s largest lizard. This park was originally established by the Indonesian government to protect these animals, which are only found on these islands. This resulted in Komodo National Park being inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991. The park has also dedicated to protect other species, including marine and other terrestrial species.

    Most of the visitors who come to Komodo National Park, come to catch a glimpse of the world’s largest lizard or to dive in one of the more 50 world-class dive sites that have listed the park in one of the top dive destinations of the world. The park has a spectacular biodiversity, healthy and colorful coral gardens surrounding the islands.

    Stunning Landscapes and Sceneries

    While visiting Komodo you will witness some of the most beautiful and unique view points and sceneries in South-East Asia. For some of them you will have to do some trekking but the reward once on the top worth the "effort", Padar Island offers the iconic Komodo's landscape. Rinca Island offers some impressive view points with Komodo Dragons as Guest star. For those who are keen to chill on a paradise beach, Komodo Island offers you Pink Beach, as the name suggests the sand tend to pink color due to tiny little red pigments created by Foraminifera on coral reefs. What about Kalong Island and its thousands Flying foxes / Giant fruit bats flying above the Island at sunset.

    The park’s spectacular underwater biodiversity, has long been considered as one of the best places for diving and snorkeling within the Coral Triangle. There are more than 50 world-class dive sites. No wonder why Komodo National Park is a marine lover’s paradise. It has a healthy and colorful coral gardens, surrounding the islands. With a marine area that constitutes 67% of the Park’s area, Komodo National Park waters provide a safe environment for 260 species of reef building coral and 70 varieties of sponges.  It is home to marine mammals: there are 6 types of wales and 10 types of dolphins. There are various types of sharks including hammerhead sharks and grey reef sharks. You can also find large pelagic creatures such as manta rays and eagle rays. There are more than 1,000 species of tropical fish along with mollusks, crustaceans, and invertebrates round out the amazing underwater bio-diversity in the park.

    To enter Indonesia your passport must have:
    •  Expiration date of the applicant’s passport must be at least 6 (six) months at the date of entry.

    Maximum length of stay without Visa is 30 Days, if you are planning to stay up to 60 days, you can buy a visa on arrival for 35 US$ at Airports and Seaports.

    You should definitely consider the full charter option especially if you are planning this cruise with your family or friends. It will make the experience even more exceptional. As we offer a large choice of boat, no matter if you are 6, 10 or more than 12 we will find the best vessel according the standing you are expecting.     Not at all, beginners can do discover scuba diving during the cruise (let us know to arrange it)


    Open water certified divers or equivalent will have access to most of the dive sites, but to make the best of the cruise Advanced level and experience in drift dive is recommended. You can spend a few days with us in Bali before starting your cruise, by joining our Safari tour or to get your Advanced certification in one of our four dive centers, it will allow you to dive up to 30m depth, to join night dives and be more confident and comfortable while drift diving.

    For an even better training we recommend you to join the drift specialty in Nusa Lembongan.

    Indonesia spread over its more than 5000 km along the Equator which offers a tropical climate with only two season, dry & wet.

    Dry season is mainly from May to October Wet season from November to April.
    Keep in mind that Indonesia is the world’s largest archipelago, so you can visit year-round as wet season won’t start in the same time in different places.

    Landscapes are also pretty different due to Tropical rainforest climate and Tropical savannah climate.

    North Komodo: April to December
    South Komodo: January to march
    Raja Ampat: October to May
    Banda Island: September to November
    Alor: May to November

    We do recommend you to bring your own gears if you already own it. If not it’s not a big deal, you can rent the full set onboard, some of our partners provide rental equipment for free, maximum you can expect another 60$ per day.
    As a reminder, every scuba diver should be equipped with: Wetsuite/BCD/Regulator set/Fins/Weight system/Dive computer/SMB/Torchlight/Compass.


    Nitrox tanks are available on most of the boats, please refer to the boat description.

    Included: Transportation between airport & boat (return)/ Accommodation/ Meals and snacks/ non alcoholic beverage/ 12L tanks and weight system for divers

    Not Included:
    Marine park and Port authority fees / International and domestic flights/ Traveling - Diving Insurance / alcoholic beverage & espresso/ massage/ 15L tanks and dive gears rental for scuba divers

    Most of the time €, Us$ are accepted onboard, but we do recommend you to bring enough cash in local currency IDR. Payement by card are available on some boats, please refer to the boat description.
    Most of electric outlets on board are European type.

    Tipping from 5 to 10% of the cruise amount are expected, it express your satisfaction level. Tips are also an important income part for crew members.
