Have you seen pictures of Komodo? It's Padar Island!

Padar island is additionally accepted together of the UNESCO World Heritage because it's located in Komodo park alongside with Komodo island, Rinca Island and Gili Motang.
No wonder why so many bloggers write about this stunning island, with beautiful long stretches beaches with fine white sand and crystal-clear water, great for snorkeling or just swimming. Padar is all surrounded by three turquoise bays, all of the bays’ beaches have different colored sand: One is pearly white, another charcoal black, and a 3rd is a very rare pink. This unusual combination makes this island a very unique one.

    Beautiful Sunset in Padar Island

    Stunning views

To reach the summit from the beach, it takes around 30 minutes. It is not a hard trek and there are great views all along the way up to the top. It is heaven for trekking fans and photographers. Once on the top, the panoramic view of the entire Komodo National Park will take your breath away. It is better to do this trek at sunrise or sunset, not only to avoid the heat, but to embrace the wonderful scenery. Either way, a little bit of trekking in the dark will have to be done.

    Pulau Padar

    Island from the Jurassic

Padar is home to a remarkable array of wildlife, especially for the size of the island. There are six species of sharks, two species of manta rays, and many different reptiles. Near the island, you can also see dolphins along with the occasional whales, green turtles, geckos, falcons and kites roam freely in the area. There are Komodo Dragons on Padar Island, but there are very few of them and they are located in the far north of the island, which is inaccessible by visitors.
