A lively town with many things to do

Despite all the tourists, it is nevertheless quite a small town that runs along one main road, making it easy to wander around, it can be traversed on foot in 20 minutes or so. You can still enjoy street food, like fresh and affordable fish prepared at one of many small food stalls. The market in Labuan Bajo is open daily right after sunset. Life outside Labuan Bajo town is very rewarding, driving through the villages, you will be surprised with the welcoming faces of the people living there, with their friendly smiles are their kind answers.

There is an endless list of things to do or places to visit around Labuan Bajo. You can visit volcanic lakes, waterfalls, limestone caves, a famous snake cave, great viewpoints, really good hiking and trekking.

Rangko Cave

The departure town of most of the Cruises and Liveaboard

Labuan Bajo is also the departure point for Dive Liveaboard and Cruise in the Komodo National Park. The Komodo National Park offers a great variety of dive sites, with many migratory pelagics and vibrant, colorful and pristine reefs with combinations of hard and soft corals, making it one of the best spots in Indonesia and one of the world's richest marine habitats. You will be amazed with schools of anthias, wrasse, majestic angelfish and larger predators like reef sharks and giant trevally. You will dive with currents, which often are not easy. Currents and eddies can be unpredictable, but at the same time also attract many large fish. The water temperature is 27-28 degrees and the average visibility is from 25-35 meters.
