    Underneath rare critters

Sel Pele is where divers can find all the rare, unique and wonderful critters that Indonesia diving is famed for.

Pay close attention to the abundance of critters, look out for the numerous species of cephalopods, such as the blue-ringed octopus, Wonderpus, Red Octopus and even the mimic octopus.

The tiny bobtail squid, usually found on the sandy bottom, is another divers favorite, for their beautifully colored body and as they are fairly rare.
    Berry cuttlefish are also seen.

Search for mantis shrimps, ribbon eels and the multitude of gobies, blennies, shrimps and nudibranchs on the sand and rubble patches.
Don’t get confused when seeing a twig on the sandy bottom, they are pipefish feeding in the current with their snout upwards, which you will realize when getting closer to them. Other pipefish include ornate and robust ghost pipefish. Check every gorgonian sea fan for pygmy seahorses, fire urchins for zebra crabs and anemones of a thousand colors that emerge from the silty sand of the bay for porcelain crabs.

There are also big mushroom leather corals, sea squirts, feather stars, sea whips, purple soft corals and huge gorgonians covered in schools of colorful fusiliers, snapper and surgeonfish.
